Cagayan Police Provincial Office spearheaded the conduct of Unity Walk, Candidates’ Forum, and Peace Covenant Signing yesterday in Enrile, Cagayan, one of the identified municipalities under the red category in the province as assessed by the Commission on Elections and the Directorate for Intelligence.
Said activity which was guested by Police Brigadier General Steve B Ludan, PRO2 Regional Director is in line with the PNP’s objective to have a Secure, Accurate, Free and Fair (S.A.F.E.) Elections 2022.
Moreover, RD Ludan in his message, urged the Valley Cops to keep themselves abreast on their law enforcement, crime prevention and public safety functions while ensuring individual security most especially on the nearing National and Local Elections 2022. He further emphasized that the COVID19 pandemic is still a threat to everyone, thus the minimum public health standards must still be observed during the exercise of official functions.
Further, according to the report from Cagayan PPO, the municipality of Enrile recorded a history of election-related incidents in the 2019 election. It is for this reason that the Cagayano Cops headed by Police Colonel Renell R Sabaldica, Provincial Director double the security efforts not only in Enrile but in the entire Cagayan province in order to ensure the safety of the entire populace.
Joining the PNP on the said cause were the officials of Commission on Elections – Regional Office 2 (COMELEC RO2); practitioners from different religious sectors, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and candidates for local positions in the municipality.
