Camp Olivas, City Of San Fernando, Pampanga –  Police Regional Office 3 under PBGEN MATTHEW P BACCAY thru its Regional Community Affairs and Development Division administered the Oath Taking of Salaam Police Advocacy Group Regional Police Officers (SPAGs) on March 8, 2022 at the PRO3 Function Hall, Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Nine (9) regional officers were sworn to their oath and are now official partners of PRO3 in its efforts to combat terrorism, insurgency and all forms of lawlessness. Earlier this month, eighty (85) SALAAM volunteers also took their oath as provincial officers.

Salaam Police Center was activated pursuant to NAPOLCOM Memorandum 2004-0008.  The Letter of Instruction 10/04 was formulated by the then Chief Philippine National Police, PDG Hermogenes Ebdane which set forth the guidelines, concept of operation, fundamental thrust and specific tasks.  Likewise, a General Order Number DPL-04-06 dated August 9, 2004, Camp Crame, Quezon City was issued placing Salaam Police Center under the Directorate of Police Community Relations.

One of the functions of Salaam Police Center is to undertake close monitoring, networking and liaising activities with the Muslim Communities in addressing terrorism and lawless violence in their respective areas, to guarantee that Muslims are not being discriminated, oppressed or singled out.

The new SPAGs have vowed of their commitment in support to the ongoing campaign of PRO3 not only against the communist insurgency but also in the campaign against illegal drugs, extremist terrorism and in disaster mitigation.

“Patuloy ninyo po kaming samahan  sa labang ito upang mapagtagumpayan natin ang minimithing kapayapaan at nang sa gayon ay makamtan din natin ang layuning pag-unlad hindi lamang para sa atin kundi sa susunod pang henerasyon. Ako po ay naniniwala na kapag sama-sama, kayang-kaya!,” PBGEN NARCISO D DOMINGO, DRDA, PRO3 said.
